This is Day 12 of Raffi's 2-week Board and Train Program. Off-Leash Recall at the lake and in the woods hiking. City manners (heel, sit, etc.) in Gainesville downtown on the square.
Raffi, a 6-year-old, Portuguese Water Dog mix. He exhibited behavior (growling, barking, lunging to bite) and his training program was adjusted to include muzzle training. As the days have passed in his 2-week board and train program Raffi has not had to wear his muzzle. He had some dental work (bad tooth) and this was causing him to growl, bark, and attempted biting when approaching his head with your hand. Raffi was found in the North Ga mountains and rescued by a local Atlanta organization and adopted out to his forever home about one-month ago. He was found in the woods with his leash and collar on. There were no tags on his collar and Raffi was not microchipped.
In this video, Raffi is off-leash at the lake with recall, sit, wait, heel and follow command. He loves chasing squirrels. His training goals included a reliable recall so he can have fun with chasing the squirrels but not getting lost again. He is wearing a SportDog 825 model remote training collar so when he is set Free (his release command) he will now recall.
Also in this video Raffi continues with his car entrance and exit manners as well as his street manners in Gainesville, GA on the downtown square. Lots of restaurants and shops to strut his heel and sit.
